The Southern Conference (known as the SoCon) is a conference participating in the NCAA's Division I, with member institutions in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. It was founded in 1922, and is the parent conference of both the Southeastern Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference.
